3 Summers of Growth: What Students & Parents Say About READ Islamic Camps

Planting the Seed of Purposeful Summers

Back in the summer of 2021, a simple but profound vision sparked what would become a life-changing journey for many families in Dubai and beyond. The READ Islamic Summer Camp began with a handful of students, one batch, and a dream—to create a space where Islamic learning, joyful exploration, and essential life skills could all thrive side by side.

Today, as we reflect on three powerful years, we see how this small initiative has grown into a deeply cherished tradition. A summer camp that isn’t just about keeping children “busy”—but about making their hearts richer, their minds sharper, and their values stronger.

Evolution Over the Years: From Seed to Shade

The transformation of READ Islamic Summer Camp over the last three years has been both inspiring and instructive.

In 2021, we began modestly—with a single group of students, basic sessions, and simple storytelling activities. Yet, the response was overwhelmingly positive. Encouraged by heartfelt feedback from both children and parents, we expanded in 2022, adding more subjects and batches. And by 2023–2024, the camp had grown to six full batches, serving over 100 students from 20+ nationalities!

Each year brought new elements:

  • Robotics & AI were introduced, bridging faith and technology.
  • Cooking without fire, Mehandi, and Arabic calligraphy added creative dimensions.
  • Lessons evolved from simple storytelling to value-centric modules—integrating teamwork, time management, discipline, and empathy into every session.

The structure, too, became more refined. Carefully crafted timetables, structured batches by age and learning level, and enhanced subject integration meant that students weren’t just learning—they were thriving.

Most importantly, the essence of the camp remained: Islamic values delivered in an engaging, loving, and nurturing environment.

Reflections from Students & Parents: Echoes of Impact

Over the last three years, we’ve been humbled by the transformation we’ve witnessed—not just in our classrooms, but in the homes and hearts of our students.

“My son started reminding us of Salah times at home. That, for us, was the biggest success.”
– A parent from 2023

“I didn’t know I could speak in front of people. Now I gave a speech about Prophet Musa (AS)!”
– Student, 10 years old

Children who once felt shy became confident speakers. Those who struggled with discipline began to value order and purpose. Little ones who knew just a few Surahs walked away having memorized new verses with proper Tajweed—and understood what they meant.

Adhkar became a habit. Wudu became a joyful routine. Kindness became a natural response.

Parents consistently mentioned how their children:

  • Became more respectful and well-mannered.
  • Developed positive peer relationships.
  • Showed increased curiosity in Islamic history and rituals.
  • Looked forward to camp mornings with excitement.

The diversity of activities meant every child found their space to shine—whether it was in robotics, art, cooking, or calligraphy.

Behind the Scenes: Tireless Effort, Heartfelt Intention

A camp of this scale doesn’t happen on its own. It is made possible by the tireless dedication of a team that believes deeply in what they do.

From teachers preparing daily lessons and story-based Islamic modules, to coordinators who observed classrooms, resolved issues, and continuously improved the learning experience—every detail was managed with care.

  • Timetables were meticulously prepared to match skill levels and age groups.
  • Weekly themes were designed to integrate practical Islam, moral values, and life skills.
  • Ongoing feedback from parents and students helped shape a better version of the camp each year.

It wasn’t always easy—managing transport, staff schedules, class sizes, and curriculum. But the shared goal kept everyone going: to serve our young Ummah with excellence.

Why Parents Trust READ Camps

Over these three years, one thing has become clear: parents trust READ. And here’s why:

  • Consistency: Each year builds on the previous one, growing in quality and scope.
  • Balanced Approach: We nurture both spiritual and practical skills, never compromising on either.
  • Caring Environment: Children feel safe, welcomed, and loved.
  • Transparent Communication: Parents are updated regularly and given space to share feedback.
  • Affordability: Fee structures are flexible, with discounts for siblings and READ students.

In a world where parents struggle to find programs that are both meaningful and fun, READ Islamic Summer Camp fills that gap perfectly.
